Filippo Passerini is President of P&G's Global Business Services (GBS) organization and Chief Information Officer.Innovative in structure, scope and philosophy, GBS has saved the company nearly $600M to date. Under Filippo's leadership, the GBS organization has created a business model that is considered unique and progressive in the Shared Services industry. IT has been re-organized, re-focused and renamed Information & Decision Solutions with an aim to deliver even greater return to the business.
GBS has been recognized three times as one of the Ten Most Admired Shared Services Organizations. Filippo was named 2007 Shared Service Thought Leader of the Year and has received several awards for CIO Excellence and IT leadership. Most recently he was included in Information Week's list of Innovators to Watch in 2008.
Filippo attributes his business and personal style to a lesson learned while playing competitive chess as a teenager: You can think and anticipate as much as you want, but you can only think so long, because the clock is ticking.
A native of Rome, Filippo earned his Doctorate in Statistics & Operating Research. He joined P&G in 1981, holding leadership positions in the UK, Greece, Italy, the U.S., Latin America and Turkey. Filippo's seat on the Board of Directors for United Rentals, the largest equipment rental company in the world, recognizes his ability to transform P&G's Information assets into a strategic and competitive advantage for the company. He is currently located in Cincinnati.
